赤石岩屋の天窓 エクロジャイトのパワースポット 八巻山から岩稜帯を縦走（愛媛県新居浜市）標高約1670m
八巻山から西赤石山へと進んでいきます。
ここからが岩場の本番です！
ここで転落してしまうと、誰にも発見してもらえなさそうです。
道はあるのですが、一見さんの場合、かなり迷ってしまいそうです。
スリリングな岩山を下りたり、登ったりと進んでいきます。
ここは本当に愛媛県なの？という岩稜帯ですね。
行ったことはないのですが「愛媛のジャンダルム」と勝手に名付けてしまいたい位です。
何度か道確認をしながら進んでいきます。
雨風の浸食で、岩に取っ手のように変形している部分もたくさんあります。
想定よりかなり時間がかかりますが、かなり楽しいですね！
八巻山から西赤石山の中間点より少し手前に
「赤石岩屋の天窓」
と名付けられた場所があります。
岩壁は、紫色の光沢のあるエクロジャイト（榴輝岩）で覆われています。
ざくろ石とも言うそうです。
パワーストーンということで、たくさん触ってきました。
「赤石岩屋の天窓」は、岸壁に天窓のような穴があいたスポットです。
狭いのですが、せっかくなので覗いてきました。
じっくり覗けないので眺望は今一つですが、瀬戸内海を眺めることができました。
ワクワクが止まりません！
かなり長い距離で、想像以上に時間がかかりますね
登りはよいのですが、下りは慎重にですね
あまり眺望はよくないのですが、瀬戸内海が見えています

We continue on from Mt. Hachimaki toward Mt. Nishi-Akaishi.
This is where the real rock climbing begins!
If you were to fall here, it seems unlikely anyone would ever find you.
There is a trail, but if you’re visiting for the first time, you’ll probably get quite lost.
We make our way along the route, climbing up and down thrilling rocky slopes.
It’s a rocky ridge that makes you wonder, “Is this really Ehime Prefecture?”
I’ve never been there, but I’m tempted to just call it the “Jandarm of Ehime” on my own.
We press on, checking the path several times along the way.
Due to erosion from rain and wind, there are many sections where the rock has been shaped into handholds.
It’s taking much longer than expected, but it’s a lot of fun!
A little before the halfway point between Mt. Hachimaki and Mt. Nishi-Akaishi,
there is a spot named
“The Skylight of Akaishi Iwaya.”
The rock face is covered in eclogite—a purple, lustrous rock.
I hear it’s also called “pomegranate stone.”
Since it’s considered a power stone, I touched it plenty of times.
“The Skylight of Akaishi Iwaya” is a spot where a skylight-like hole has opened up in the cliff face.
It’s narrow, but since I was there, I took a peek inside.
I couldn’t look in closely, so the view wasn’t great, but I was able to catch a glimpse of the Seto Inland Sea.
