高萩山　林道が崩落しまくっていました（愛媛県松山市・愛媛県今治市）標高355m

貫之山を下りて高萩山へ。
小山田地区へ車を10分ほど走らせます。
三島神社の石碑が登山口の目印です。
後ろの祠が、風早八十八ヵ所　第八十五番に指定されている小山田中地蔵堂。
この横に車を止めて、三島神社とは反対側の道に入ります。
スクーターならそのまま進むのですが、今日は車のため、ここから歩きです。
事前調査では、山頂の下あたりまで林道があるとのこと。

最初の小屋横のため池の分岐点を右に進みます。
しばらく歩くと舗装もなくなり砂利道へ。
見えにくいのですが、次のため池の手前に分岐点があります。
ここも右へ。
（私はため池も分岐点も見えず、しばらく左に進んでしまいました。）

池を抜けるまで、しばらく笹藪が続きます。
笹薮を抜けると林道がわかりやすくなります。
YAMAPに登山道はないため、林道の波線を頼りに進んでいきます。
ただ、スクーターで山頂下まで行けると聞いていたのですが、道があちこち崩落しています。
先日、芥川賞受賞の「バリ山行」を読んだばかりなのですが、まさに今回は林道とバリエーションルート交互に歩く日になってしまいました。
小雨が降った翌日だっため少し怖かったのですが、崩落箇所も地盤がしっかりしていてなんとか大丈夫でした。
林道終点地点からは、杉林の中を直登していきます。
尾根に上がるとピークっぽいのですが、ここは山頂ではありません。
さらに木々をかきわけて登っていくと高萩山山頂に到着。
眺望は全くないのですが、山頂標識と三角点がありました。

行きも帰りも含めて、3度、道を外れました。
YAMAPの登山道がないため、ルート外れの通知はありません。
それでも、歩いてきたルートを見ながら帰ることができるのは、本当にありがたいアプリです。
もし、登られる際には、ピンクテープかYAMAP等のGPSアプリを使うことをお奨めします！

Go down Mt.Tsurayuki to Mt. Takahagi.
Drive 10 minutes to the Oyamada area.
The stone monument of Mishima Shrine marks the trailhead.
The shrine behind it is Jizo-do, designated as the 85th of the 88 Kazehaya 88 Places of Worship.
Park your car next to this and take the road on the opposite side of Mishima Shrine.
If we were on a scooter, we would have continued on, but since we are driving today, we will walk from here.
According to our preliminary investigation, there is a forest road to the bottom of the summit.

At the junction with the reservoir next to the first hut, turn right.
After walking for a while, the pavement disappears and you come to a gravel road.
It is hard to see, but there is a fork before the next reservoir.
Here, too, turn right.

After passing through the bamboo thicket, the forest road becomes easier to find.
Since there is no trail on the YAMAP, we will rely on the wavy lines of the forest road.
However, we were told that we could reach the bottom of the summit by scooter, but the road has collapsed here and there.
I had just recently read the Akutagawa Prize-winning book, “Bali Mountain Walk,” and this was exactly the day to walk alternately on the forest road and the variation route.
I was a little scared because it was the day after a light rainfall, but the ground was firm enough to hold the fallen part of the trail.
From the end of the forest road, we climbed straight up through the cedar forest.
When we reached the ridge, it looked like a peak, but it was not the summit.
After climbing through more trees, we arrived at the summit of Mt.Takahagi.
There is no view at all, but there is a summit sign and a triangular point.

We went off the trail three times, including on the way there and on the way back.
Since there is no YAMAP trail, there is no notification of off-route.
Still, it is a very nice app to be able to see the route you have hiked and return.
If you are going to climb, I would recommend using pink tape or a GPS app such as YAMAP!
