淡路ヶ峠 林淡路守通起が城主の淡路城址（愛媛県松山市）標高273m
今年はなかなか山登りの機会が少なく、ペースがゆっくりです。
ということで、仕事の合間を見て、久しぶりの淡路ヶ峠へ。
繁多寺コースから登ります。
淡路ヶ峠は、山登りを始めたきっかけとなった山ですが、最初はあんなにしんどかったのに、今は近所の散歩程度の感覚になってしまっています。
とはいうものの、繁多寺コースは、森林を抜け、岩場があり、鉄塔を2つ越え、最後の尾根歩きと、短いながらも雰囲気が次々と変わっていくのが良いですね。
そして、山頂の展望台からみる松山市街から瀬戸内海の眺望は素晴らしいの一言！
やはり、定期的に原点に戻らないとですね。
ところで、松山市なのにどうして淡路なの？
と思っていたのですが、今回、山頂でしっかりと説明を読んでみました。
淡路ヶ峠は城址で、道後湯築城の砦である淡路城があったとのこと。
城主は河野道直の家臣、林淡路守通起（はやしあわじのかみみちおき）。
なるほど、城主の名前から淡路が取られていたのですね。

淡路ヶ峠までの距離は短いですが、景色が変わっていくのが良いですね

I have not had many opportunities to climb mountains this year, and the pace is slow.
So, I took a break from work and went to Awajiga-tou for the first time in a while.
I climbed from the Shigeta-ji course.
Awajiga-tou is the mountain that inspired me to start mountain climbing, and although it was tough at first, now it feels like just a walk in the neighborhood.
However, the Shigeta-ji course is short, with a forest, rocky terrain, two steel towers, and a final walk on a ridge.
The view of Matsuyama city and the Seto Inland Sea from the observatory at the top of the mountain is nothing short of spectacular!
After all, we must return to our starting point on a regular basis.
By the way, why is Awaji in Matsuyama City?
I had wondered why Awajigatoge is located in Matsuyama City, but this time, I read the explanation carefully at the top of the mountain.
Awajiga-to is the site of a castle, and Awaji Castle, a fortress of the Dogo-Yuzuki Castle, used to be located there.
The lord of the castle was Michioki Hayashi Awaji-kami, a vassal of Michinao Kono.
I see, so Awaji was taken from the name of the lord of the castle.
I’ll have to study up on this one.
