東赤石山 片道3時間半！高山植物が豊富なカンラン岩の日本二百名山（愛媛県新居浜市・愛媛県四国中央市）標高1710m
本日は旅八さんのツアーで東赤石山から西赤石山への縦走。
筏津登山口から登って、日浦登山口に降りてきます。
11時間の登山計画です。
まずは杉林を抜け、山を巻くようにじわじわと高度を上げていきます。
木橋を渡ると、しばらく沢に沿って道が続いています。
木が渡してある場所は全て朽ちて危ないですので、横を通っていきます。
沢を渡って山の中へ。
ここから高度を上げていきます。
徐々に岩場が増えてきました。
アケボノツツジやミツバツツジが目を楽しませてくれます。
尾根に出て、分岐を東赤石山に進んでいきます。
後半は森の中の岩稜帯です。
東赤石山らしくなってきました。
山頂は完全に岩場です。
ザックを置いて登っていきます。
岩の上に上がると、西側のピークに到着です。
岩の上から、新居浜の街並みと海が眺められます。
良い眺望ですね。
南側には平家平を中心に有名どころの山々が連なっています。
三角点のある東側のピークは100m程先にあるのですが、今日はここまで。
少し休憩をとって八巻山に向かいます。
いよいよ、西赤石山までの縦走がスタートです！
駐車場は道路の下側にあります。かなり広いです！

三角点の方が標高1706mと少し低くなります

Today, I’m on a tour with Tabihachi, traversing from Mt. Higashi-Akaishi to Mt. Nishi-Akaishi.
We’ll ascend from the Ikatsu trailhead and descend to the Hiura trailhead.
The hike is scheduled to take 11 hours.
First, we pass through a cedar forest and gradually gain elevation as we wind our way around the mountain.
After crossing a wooden bridge, the trail follows a stream for a while.
All the wooden planks are rotten and dangerous, so we walk alongside them.
Cross the stream and head deeper into the mountains.
From here, we begin to gain elevation.
Rocky terrain gradually increases.
Akebono azaleas and Mitsuba azaleas provide a visual treat.
Reaching the ridge, we take the fork leading to Mt. Higashi-Akaishi.
The latter half is a rocky ridge through the forest.
It’s starting to feel like Mt. Higashi-Akaishi.
The summit is entirely rocky terrain.
We set down our packs and climb up.
Once I climb up onto the rocks, I reach the western peak.
From the top of the rocks, I can see the cityscape of Niihama and the sea.
What a great view.
To the south, famous mountains stretch out, centered around Heike-daira.
The eastern peak, where the triangulation point is located, is about 100 meters ahead, but that’s as far as I’m going today.
After a short break, I head toward Mt. Hachimaki.
Finally, the traverse to Mt. Nishi-Akaishi begins!
