西赤石山 物住頭～西赤石山の縦走（愛媛県新居浜市）標高1626m
物住頭から西赤石山へ。
ここからは、いわゆる稜線歩きです。
ずっと、西赤石山を眺めながら歩けます。
途中で雲ヶ原と命名された場所を通過。
きれいな名前ですが、調べてもよくわかりませんでした。
ここからは木々の間を通っていくのですが、風でかなり倒木しています。
枝もけっこう出ていて、避けるのがちょっと大変です。
緩やかに登っていくと、気が付いたら西赤石山山頂に到着。
まずは三角点のある丘に。
そのまま先に進んで、銅版の標識に到着です。
西赤石山からのパノラマ眺望は素晴らしいですね。
石鎚山も眺める事ができました。
この時点で午後3時。
夕方は天候悪化とのことで、冷たい風も吹いてきました。
ここから銅山越まで1時間半。
日浦登山口まで3時間。
東赤石山から西赤石山への縦走は無事に終了。
11時間強、13.6kmの山行でした。

From Monozumi-kashira to Mt. Nishi-Akaishi.
From here on, it’s what you might call a ridge walk.
You can walk the entire way while gazing at Mt. Nishi-Akaishi.
Along the way, we passed a spot named Kumogahara.
It’s a beautiful name, but even after looking it up, I couldn’t quite figure out its origin.
From here, the path winds through the trees, but the wind has knocked down quite a few trees.
There are also quite a few branches sticking out, making it a bit difficult to navigate.
As I climbed gently upward, I suddenly realized I had arrived at the summit of Mt. Nishi-Akaishi.
First, I headed to the hill where the triangulation point is located.
I continued straight ahead and arrived at the copper signpost.
The panoramic view from Mt. Nishi-Akaishi is truly magnificent.
I was even able to see Mt. Ishizuchi.
It was 3:00 PM at this point.
The forecast called for worsening weather in the evening, and a cold wind had started to blow.
It’s an hour and a half from here to Dōzan-goe.
Three hours to the Hiura trailhead.
The traverse from Mt. Higashi-Akaishi to Mt. Nishi-Akaishi was successfully completed.
It was a hike of just over 11 hours and 13.6 km.
