石灰山 弓削島のランドマーク 歴史ある石灰採掘地だったお山（愛媛県越智郡上島町・弓削島）標高216m
古法皇山から石灰山へ。
まずは分岐に戻って石灰山に進みます。
標高差はあまりなく、小さなピークを2つ越えて、3つ目のピークが山頂です。
石灰山は弓削島のランドマーク。
お隣の佐島からも、佐島と弓削島を繋ぐ弓削大橋からも、南東側の山頂が削られた山を眺めることができます。
これが石灰山。
愛媛県生涯学習センターの説明では、もともとは石山と呼ばれた山で、石灰岩が発見された1820年から1972年の採掘終了まで、弓削島最大の地盤産業だったとのことです。
石灰山山頂には、名前が消えてしまった小さな標識があるのみです。
さらに先に進むと、削れた山の上まで進むことができます。
角度的に削れた風景は眺めることができませんが、下を覗き込むと、たくさんの石灰岩が広がっているのがわかります。
眺望は木々の間から、少しだけ眺めることができました。

From Furuhouou-yama to Sekkai-yama.
First, head back to the fork in the trail and proceed toward Sekkai-yama.
There isn’t much elevation gain; after passing two small peaks, the third peak is the summit.
Ishigai-yama is a landmark of Yuge Island.
You can see this mountain—with its summit eroded on the southeast side—from neighboring Sashima Island as well as from the Yuge Bridge, which connects Sashima and Yuge Islands.
This is Ishigai-yama.
According to the Ehime Prefectural Lifelong Learning Center, the mountain was originally called Ishiyama. From 1820, when limestone was discovered, until mining ceased in 1972, it was Yuge Island’s largest local industry.
At the summit of Sekkaiyama, there is only a small sign whose name has faded away.
If you continue further, you can make your way up to the top of the quarried mountain.
Although the angle prevents you from seeing the quarried landscape directly, if you look down, you can see vast expanses of limestone spread out below.
I was able to catch a brief glimpse of the view through the trees.
