嶺守の栂 急登の先にある樹齢700年の栂の巨木（愛媛県東温市）標高約860m
本日は、yuko__sanさんにアテンドいただいて、「嶺守の栂」という巨木に連れていっていただきました！
上林の156鉄塔下に車を止めて、まずは白糸の滝の入口まで歩いていきます。
ここまで車で行けるのですが、私の車では離合があった場合に対応が怖くて、かならず歩いています（汗）
白糸の滝の入口から林道を少し上がると、「白糸尾根 嶺守の栂」の標識があります。
ここから山に入っていきます。
後は杉林の中を、とにかく登る、登る、登る。
なかなかの急登が続きます。
休憩ポイントがないのですよね。
ゆっくりと登っていきます。
しばらく登ると、昨日の残雪が道に残っています。
少量ですが、雪道を歩けて楽しくなってきまうｓ．
しばらく登ると「登山道」の標識が見えてきます。
ここが、白糸の滝の上になるそうです。
滝は見えませんが、水の音が聞こえます。
笹道の急登をもう少し登ると尾根へ。
雪道の尾根を歩いていきます。
尾根道をじわじわ登っていきますが、ふと顔を上げると巨木が！
この栂の巨木が「嶺守の栂」です。
なんでも樹齢700年なのだとか。
雪と木漏れ日の中で、とても幻想的です。
この大きさ、写真では伝わりにくですね。
人と一緒に撮影して、初めてその大きさがわかります。

ちょっとだけ平らな場所を見つけたので休憩
雪が残っていて楽しくなってきました♪

青空が見えてきました
もう少し登っていきます
気を付けていないと通り過ぎる人もいるらしいので注意！
しかし大きい！パワーが漲っています！

Today, yuko__san kindly guided me to the giant tree known as “Mine-mori no Tsuga”!
We parked the car below Tower 156 in Kamibayashi and first walked to the entrance of Shiraito Falls.
You can drive this far, but I’m too scared my car might not handle passing another vehicle, so I always walk.
A short way up the forest road from the Shiraito Falls entrance, there’s a sign for “Shiraito Ridge: Mine-mori no Tsuga.”
This is where we enter the mountains.
After that, it’s just climbing, climbing, climbing through the cedar forest.
The steep ascent continues for quite a while.
There are no rest points, you see.
We climb slowly.
After climbing for a while, yesterday’s leftover snow remains on the path.
It’s just a little, but walking on snowy paths starts to feel fun.
After climbing a bit longer, a “Hiking Trail” sign comes into view.
This is apparently the area above Shiraito Falls.
You can’t see the falls, but you can hear the sound of water.
Climbing a bit more up the steep bamboo path brings you to the ridge.
You walk along the snowy ridge path.
You gradually climb the ridge path, but when you suddenly look up, there’s a giant tree!
This giant Japanese hemlock is the “Ridge Guardian Hemlock.”
They say it’s about 700 years old.
Amidst the snow and dappled sunlight, it’s incredibly ethereal.
Its sheer size is hard to convey in photos.
You only grasp its magnitude when you take a picture with someone beside it.
