日野石鎚神社跡の鳥居　超穴場！すぐに行ける天空の鳥居（愛媛県伊予市）標高約150m

伊予稲荷神社前の道を走っていると、一定の区間のみですが、山の中腹に鳥居が見えるのですよね。
以前、ここに登ろうと彷徨ってみたのですが、全く辿り着くことができませんでした。

最近、YAMAPでフォローさせていただいた方が、この鳥居を投稿されており、ようやく行き方を知ることができました。
ということで、お昼休みに行ってきました！

まずは、伊予市の稲荷山 常願寺を目指します。
常願寺を過ぎて、高速道路の下をくぐります。

川のところで、ぐるっと道が回り込むので、上の道に登っていきます。
少し進むと、ゲートで道が止められています。
このゲート前に、1～2台ほど車を置くスペースがあります。
あまり道が広くない上に、道の端は崖ですので、小さな車までの方が良いです。
心配でしたら、川のところのぐるっと道が回り込むあたりに停めると良いと思います。

さて、ゲートには「開放厳禁・扉を開けた方は必ず閉めてください」と書かれてあります。
U字型の鉄筋が鍵となっていて、ちょっと悩みますが、わかると簡単に開けられます。
開けたら閉めましょう！

ここから道沿いに少し上ると、竹林があり、竹林とガードレールの端あたりで、右側に登る道があります。
ここが登り口。
ここを少し登ると、道が一気に開け、鳥居が見えてきます。
後は鳥居を目指して登るだけです。

注意点は、この時点で決して振り返らないこと！
鳥居をくぐって、5mほど進んで、ここで振り返る！

まさに天空の鳥居！

伊予市と瀬戸内海の素晴らしい眺望が待っています。
いやぁ、本当に素晴らしい眺望です。
ゲートからわずか10分程で、このような素晴らしい景色が見られるのですよね。

ということで、お弁当を持ってきました。
風が少し強かったのですが、青空の中で食べるお弁当は最高です！

ちなみに、鳥居の奥に進んでみたのですが、何もありませんでした。
この鳥居は、日野石鎚神社跡の鳥居という名前です。
日野石鎚神社は、稲荷東運動公園の横、田んぼの中にあります。
昔は山の上に、日野石鎚神社もしくは奥の院があったのでしょうね。
（その後、調べてみると、かなり奥に日野石鎚神社跡があるようです）

穴場中の穴場かなと思っていたのですが、休憩していると、2人組が登ってこられました。
みんなに知ってほしいけど、自分だけの場所にしたい、そんな素敵な天空の鳥居でした。

Driving along the road in front of Iyo Inari Shrine, you can see a torii gate atop the mountain for a certain stretch.
I once tried wandering around to climb up here, but I couldn’t reach it at all.

Recently, someone I follow on YAMAP posted about this torii, and I finally learned how to get there.
So, I went during my lunch break!

First, head toward Jōganji Temple on Inariyama in Iyo City.
Pass Jōganji Temple and go under the expressway.

At the river, the road curves around, so climb up to the road above.
After going a short way, the road is blocked by a gate.
There’s space to park one or two cars right in front of this gate.
The road isn’t very wide, and the edge is a cliff, so smaller cars are better.
If you’re worried, it’s probably best to park near where the road curves around by the river.

Now, the gate has a sign that says “Strictly No Entry. If you open the gate, please close it.”
A U-shaped rebar acts as the lock. It might take a moment to figure out, but once you do, it’s easy to open.
Remember to close it after you open it!

From here, follow the road slightly uphill. You’ll see a bamboo grove. Near the edge of the bamboo grove and the guardrail, there’s a path leading up to the right.
This is the trailhead.
Climb a little here, and the path suddenly opens up, revealing the torii gate.
From here, just keep climbing toward the torii.

Important note: Do not look back at this point!
Pass through the torii, walk about 5 meters, and then look back here!

Truly a torii gate in the sky!

A magnificent view of Iyo City and the Seto Inland Sea awaits.
Wow, it really is an amazing view.
It’s amazing that you can see such a spectacular view just 10 minutes from the gate.

So, I brought a bento lunch.
The wind was a bit strong, but eating bento under the blue sky is the best!

By the way, I tried going further beyond the torii gate, but there was nothing there.
This torii gate is called the Torii Gate of the Hino Ishizuchi Shrine Ruins.
Hino Ishizuchi Shrine is located in the rice fields next to Inari Higashi Sports Park.
I imagine the Hino Ishizuchi Shrine or its inner sanctuary once stood atop the mountain.
(Later research suggests the ruins are actually quite deep within the mountains.)

I thought it was a hidden gem among hidden gems, but while resting, a pair of hikers came climbing up.
It was such a wonderful sky-high torii gate—a place I wanted everyone to know about, yet also wanted to keep just for myself.
