総本山善通寺 弘法大師ゆかりの地 四国八十八ヶ所75番札所（香川県善通寺市）
五岳縦走の後は、善通寺にお参りです。
実は初めての善通寺参拝。
空海誕生の地であり、空海ゆかりの真言宗の総本山。
ホームページによると
現在の善通寺西院（誕生院）が建つ地は、当時佐伯家（御父・佐伯善通）の邸宅がありました。
その西院御影堂の奥殿が建つ場所は、母君のお部屋があった場所と伝わっており、お大師さま御誕生の聖地として大切にされています。
とのこと。
善通寺の名前も、御父の名前が由来に名付けられたとされているそうです。
という知識は、後から知ったことですが、四国八十八か所で最も広大な善通寺。
五重塔や、金堂の薬師如来坐像は本当に素晴らしいですね。
現在の薬師如来坐像は1700年に再興されたものだそうですが、それでも325年も経っています。
薬師如来には、現世利益、病気平癒、寿命延長のご利益があるとのこと。
本当に素晴らしいお寺ですので、皆さんも、五岳縦走と共に、善通寺にもぜひ参拝してみてください！

After traversing the Five Peaks, we visited Zentsūji Temple.
This was actually my first time visiting Zentsūji.
It is the birthplace of Kūkai and the head temple of the Shingon sect associated with him.
According to the website:
The site where the current Zentsūji Saion (Birthplace Hall) stands was once the residence of the Saeki family (his father, Saeki Yoshimichi).
The location where the inner hall of the West Precinct’s Image Hall now stands is said to be where his mother’s quarters were, and it is revered as the sacred birthplace of the Great Master.
That’s what it says.
It’s also said that the name Zentsūji itself was derived from his father’s name.
I learned this information later, but Zentsūji is the most expansive temple on the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage.
The five-story pagoda and the seated Yakushi Nyorai statue in the Kondo Hall are truly magnificent.
The current seated Yakushi Nyorai statue was restored in 1700, yet it still boasts a history of 325 years.
It is said that Yakushi Nyorai grants blessings for worldly benefits, healing of illness, and extension of life.
It is truly a magnificent temple, so everyone, along with hiking the Five Peaks, please be sure to visit Zentsūji Temple!
