This is a super power spot where Tokugawa Ieyasu and Sugawara Michizane are enshrined!
You can see “Mitsuba-Aoi”, the crest of hollyhock.
The shrine is said to have divine virtues for success in school, academic achievement, and protection from difficulties.
The Matsuyama Shrine is located at the devil’s gate of the Matsuyama Plain.
It watches over the peace of Matsuyama City.
The Gongen-zukuri style shrine pavilions are said to be one of only seven in Japan.
Almost all the pavilions from the Edo period when the shrine was built still remain, making it an important shrine.
The view of Matsuyama Castle and the castle from the top of the stairs is wonderful!
