横ノ森 ここが真の三本杭？！ 木々のトンネルの先にある静かな森（愛媛県宇和島市・愛媛県北宇和郡松野町・高知県四万十市）標高1200m
三本杭の近くに、取りこぼしているピーク、横ノ森があるので向かいます。
こちらも格子の門を通って進んでいきます。
山の中に入り、木々の狭きトンネルを抜けていきます。
今は春のため、葉が柔らかいのが救いです。
トンネルをくぐり抜けていくと、山頂エリアに。
少し奥に進むと、あっという間に、森の中の横ノ森に到着。
特筆することはないのですが、忘れ物登山のような感じです。
ただ、後ほど調べて知ったのですが、江戸時代に宇和島藩、伊予吉田藩、土佐藩の境界を決めた際に、境界の杭が立てられたのは、実は横ノ森だったという説があるとのこと。
ここが真の三本杭だったのですか！
確かに地図で確認すると、3つの市町の境にありますね。
もっと、堪能しておけば良かったです。
さて、本日のスケジュールの前半の山が終了。
全てのトラバース道を通って、鹿のコルまで一気に戻ります！
トラバース道も、崩れかけの場所や、ロープのある沢渡りなど、歩きごたえがありました。
静かな森の中という感じです
横ノ森は確かに宇和島市、松野町、四万十市の境にありますね

Near the Sanbongui, there’s a peak I’ve missed so far—Yokonomori—so I’m heading there.
I pass through the lattice gate and continue on.
I enter the mountains and make my way through a narrow tunnel of trees.
It’s spring now, so the soft leaves make it a bit easier.
After passing through the tunnel, I reach the summit area.
I go a little further in, and in no time at all, I arrive at Yokonomori, nestled in the forest.
There’s nothing particularly noteworthy here, but it feels a bit like a “forget-and-go” hike.
However, I later looked it up and found out that there’s a theory suggesting that when the borders between the Uwajima, Iyo-Yoshida, and Tosa domains were established during the Edo period, the boundary stakes were actually erected at Yokonomori.
So this was the true Sanbonbashi!
Sure enough, checking the map confirms it’s located at the junction of three municipalities.
I wish I’d taken more time to appreciate it.
Well, the first half of today’s mountain hike is complete.
I’ll take all the traverse trails and head straight back to Shika-no-Koru!
The traverse trails were quite challenging, with sections that were starting to crumble and stream crossings secured by ropes.
