観音山 地元民が集まる桜の名所（愛媛県越智郡上島町・佐島）標高62m
生名島から生名橋を渡って佐島へ。
佐島には横峯山があるのですが、時間の関係で、超低山の観音山へ。
ここは、桜の名所として有名な場所です。
山というよりはピークなのですが、島の子どもたちが作った「かみじま事典」によると、1945年頃に、益田竹一さんを中心に作られた、皆が集まって楽しむための山だそうです。
登山口らしきところから、踏み跡を頼りによじ登ります。
（車を停められる道幅がありますが、その先は道幅が狭くなります）
あとはピークに向かって進むと、あっという間に山頂です。
観音堂というお堂があり、三十観音像や聖観音という二体の観音様をはじめ様々な石像が祀られています。
周囲には観音山の石碑や、他の観音様の石像がありました。
ベンチも設置されており、生名橋の風景を眺めることができました。
次回は、桜の咲く春に訪れたい場所ですね。
このあたりから道幅が細くなりますが、写真の先側の少しくだったろころに車が停められます
地域の方々によりものすごく整備された山なのですが
登り口だけは整備されてないのが不思議です
ピークに向かって進んでいきます

回り込むように進むのが正しい道です

From Ikuna Island, cross the Ikuna Bridge to Sashima.
There is Mt. Yokomine on Sashima, but due to time constraints, we went to the very low mountain Mt.
This place is famous for its cherry blossoms.
It is more of a peak than a mountain, but according to the “Kamijima Encyclopedia” created by island children, it was built around 1945, mainly by Takeichi Masuda, for everyone to gather and enjoy.
From what looks like a trailhead, we followed the footprints and climbed up the mountain.
(The road is wide enough to park a car, but after that, the road narrows.)
After that, you will reach the summit in no time.
There is a hall called “Kannon-do” where various stone statues are enshrined, including two statues of the Thirty-fourth Kannon and the Holy Kannon.
Surrounding the temple were stone monuments of Kannonzan and stone statues of other Kannon statues.
Benches were also set up to view the scenery of Ikuna Bridge.
Next time, I would like to visit this place in spring when cherry blossoms are in bloom.
