八景山 牛屋口→八景山 こんぴらさん横の遺蹟の小山（香川県善通寺市）標高231m
琴平山から牛屋口へと降りてきました。
金刀比羅宮には、表参道と裏参道がありますが、牛屋口という別の参道があります。
土佐（高知）・伊予（愛媛）と讃岐（香川）をつなぐ主要街道であった金毘羅街道（旧伊予土佐街道）。
幕末には坂本龍馬、中岡慎太郎などの脱藩者や高杉晋作などが、往来する際にこの道を使い、西口峠(牛屋口)を越えたといわれています。
ということで、ここに坂本龍馬像があります。
坂本龍馬像のすぐ近くに、八景山・愛宕山への登山口があります。
少し山に入った所に標識があるのですが、意識していないと気づきません。
道はかなりしっかりしていて歩きやすいです。
途中に大きな倒木がありました。
根の土の具合から、倒れたばかりのように感じましたが、調べたところ数年前には既に倒れていたようです。
分岐点で登山道から外れて、八景山に登っていきます。
八景山山頂は八景山遺蹟となっており、昭和16年に建てられた石碑がありました。
木にはかわいい八景山の標識もありました。
注意していないと見落とします
もう少し下に設置してほしいところ
根の土が新しかったのですが、調べたところ数年前には既に倒れていました
小さな丘なのであっという間です
金刀比羅宮（こんぴらさん）には「こんぴら狗」
という風習があったそうなのでそういう意味？

From Mt. Kotohira, we descended to Ushiyaguchi.
Konpira-gu Shrine has an Omote-sando and a Ura-sando, but there is another approach called Ushiyaguchi.
The Konpira Road (formerly the Iyo-Tosa Road) was the main road connecting Tosa (Kochi), Iyo (Ehime) and Sanuki (Kagawa).
It is said that at the end of the Edo period, Sakamoto Ryoma, Nakaoka Shintaro, and other feudal lords who left their domains, as well as Takasugi Shinsaku, used this road when coming and going, crossing the Nishiguchi Pass (Ushiyaguchi).
Therefore, a statue of Ryoma Sakamoto is located here.
Near the Ryoma Sakamoto statue, there is a trailhead to Hakkeiyama and Atagoyama.
There is a signpost a little further into the mountain, but you will not notice it unless you are aware of it.
The path is quite firm and easy to walk on.
There was a large fallen tree on the way.
From the condition of the soil in the roots, it looked as if it had just fallen, but upon further inspection, it appeared that it had already fallen several years ago.
At the junction, we turned off the trail and climbed up to Mt. Hakkeiyama.
At the top of Mt. Hakkeiyama is the HakkeiyamaRuins, and there was a stone monument built in 1941.
There was also a cute Hakkeiyama sign on a tree.
