A little further up the mountain from Konpira Park, a cherry blossom viewing spot on top of a small mountain in the town of Tobe, is the Mitsumata Kofun Park.
This is a forest park with softly fallen leaves, and is pleasant to walk around.
The park is a must for fans of kofun tumuli, and is filled with stilt warehouses, pit houses, round tombs, stone coffins, and a high watchtower.
Best of all, this extravagant park is always almost entirely reserved for walking!
