ウバホド山 天空の笹漕ぎ（愛媛県上浮穴郡久万高原町）標高1481.70m
続いて、ウバホド山に向かいます。
ところで、ウバホドって何？
このあたり一帯の地名であるウバホトが由来だとか。
なぜか、ウバホドに名前が変化しています。
さて、ウバホド山の登山口から中に入ってきます。
ここから一気に笹に覆われた道に。
前半は膝丈の笹ですが、なんとか道がわかります。
その後、道がはっきりとわかりやすくなります。
しかしながら、それは数十メートルのみ。
ここから地獄の笹漕ぎが始まります。
中盤は膝～大腿部ぐらいの笹丈。
後半は大腿部～腰ぐらいの笹竹です。
えーと、道がありません！

進んでも進んでも、道なき一面の笹。
進もうかな？戻ろうかな？
YAMAPの地図が少しずつ進んでいるのを見て、また、少し進みます。

帰って調べてみると、南側の笹原ではなく、北の尾根上のブナ林の中を進むのが正解のようです。
とはいうものの、ブナ林も背の高い笹だらけで進めず、諦めたのでした（汗）
苦労の甲斐があり、頂上の素晴らしい景色を眺めることができました。
さて、帰らねば。
帰りは、怖いものなしです。
南斜面の腰丈の笹をかき分けながら戻っていきました。
初めての笹漕ぎは、体力を使い果たしました・・・

Next, we will head to Mount Ubahodo.
By the way, what is Ubahodo?
It is said to be derived from Ubahoto, the name of a place in this area.
For some reason, the name has been changed to Ubahodo.
Now, you come inside from the trailhead of Mt. Ubahodo.
From here, the trail quickly becomes covered in bamboo grass.
The first half is knee-high bamboo grass, but you manage to find the path.
After that, the path becomes clear and easy to find.
However, it is only for a few dozen meters.
This is where the hellish paddle through the bamboos begins.
In the middle part of the trail, the bamboo is knee to thigh high.
In the second half, the bamboo is about the length of your thigh to your waist.
Well, there is no path!
There is no path in front of me.
Behind me there will be a path.
Kotaro Takamura’s poem comes to mind.
No matter whether I go forward or backward, there is no path.
Shall I go on? Shall I go back?
Seeing that the YAMAP map is advancing little by little, I go a little further again.

After returning home, we found that the correct way to proceed was not through the bamboo field on the south side, but through the beech forest on the ridge to the north.
However, the beech forest was also covered with tall bamboos, so we gave up.
The hard work was worth it, and we got a great view of the summit.
Now, we had to go home.
There was nothing to be afraid of on the way back.
We made our way back through the waist-high bamboos on the south slope.
My first time paddling in the bamboos had exhausted my energy…
