うなめご（善神ヶ森） 東温アルプス縦走 前々司山→うなめご（愛媛県東温市）標高1284.08m
さて、本日の目的地点である、うなめごに向かいます。
あと一息！
今日はここから急に道が悪くなります。
笹が張り出していて、かき分けながら進んでいきます。
倒木も少なからずあり、乗り越えたり、くぐったり。
なかなかワイルドです。
山頂に近づくと、景色が一気に開けます。
東温アルプス縦走ルートは木々が多いので、この開け方は嬉しいですね。
うめなごまで50m地点の標識が見えたらラストスパート。
本日の目的地、うなめご（善神ヶ森）山頂に。
遅越三角点もありました。
「うなめご」とは「預け牛」の習慣が由来こと。
田植えが終わると、農繁期を迎える地に、峠を越えて里牛を預けたのだとか。
この道、牛が歩いていたのですね。
その縁の地へ、幼くして嫁ぐ「初（うぶ）な女子（めご）」へのはなむけの意があるそうです。

Now, we are heading to Unamego, today’s destination.
We are almost there!
Today, the trail suddenly gets worse from here.
Bamboos were overhanging the trail, and we had to wade through them.
There were a few fallen trees, and we had to climb over and through them.
It was quite wild.
As we approach the summit, the view opens up.
The Toon Alps traverse route has a lot of trees, so we were happy to see this open view.
When we saw the sign at the 50-meter mark at Unenagomoto, it was time for the last spurt.
We reached today’s destination, the summit of Umego (Zenjingamori).
There was also a late triangulation point.
Unamego” refers to the origin of the custom of “taking care of cattle.
It is said that after the rice planting season was over, people would cross the mountain pass and leave their cows in the care of the local farmers.
So cows used to walk along this road.
It is said that the custom is meant as a gift to the “little girl” who marries at a young age to the place where the cow was planted.
