臥龍山荘 臥龍院・知止庵・不老庵（愛媛県大洲市）標高27m
大洲藩第3代藩主加藤泰恒が「蓬莱山が龍の臥す姿に似ている」ことから名付けられたと言われる「臥龍」の地。
明治時代に、豪商の河内寅次郎が築造した別荘が臥龍山荘です。
大洲城とセットの入場券がありましたので行ってきました。
臥龍山荘は、庭園の中に、臥龍院、知止庵、不老庵の3つの建物があります。
中でも有名なのが不老庵ですね。
臥龍淵を眼下に見る、崖の上に建てられた数寄屋造りの庵。
庵そのものを船に見立てて作られているそうです。
中から景色を眺めても、対岸から庵を見ても、素晴らしいですね。
肱川の雄大な流れを見ながら、のんびりとできました。

Garyu is said to have been named by Yasutsune Kato, the third lord of the Ozu clan, after Mount Horai, which resembles a reclining dragon.
Garyu Sanso was a villa built by Torajiro Kouchi, a wealthy merchant, in the Meiji era.
I went there because there was a combined admission ticket with Ozu Castle.
Garyu Sanso has three buildings in the garden: Garyuin, Chishi-an and Furo-an.
The most famous of these is the Furo-an.
This is a sukiya-style hermitage built on a cliff with a view of Garyu-buchi below.
The hermitage itself is said to have been built to look like a boat.
The view from inside and the hermitage from the other side of the river is wonderful.
We were able to relax and watch the magnificent Hijikawa River flow by.
