Today’s mission is to summit Mount Onigajo. First, we’re heading for Sanbonkui, the farthest peak on today’s route. We start from Shika-no-Koru.
We’ll head toward Ino-no-Koru first, but instead of taking the detour, we’ll climb directly up Mount Onigajo. I figure it’s faster to just climb up while I still have the energy.
The rain from yesterday hasn’t had much of an effect, but the tree roots are still slippery. Once I reach the ridge, I just keep moving forward in silence! I reach the summit of Mt. Onigajo in just under 20 minutes.
I’m probably the first one here today. It’s a luxurious moment, but after taking a quick look at the cairn and the summit marker, I set off right away.
