福岡八幡神社・四尾山（愛媛県西条市丹原町）標高約60m
四尾山山頂にある福岡八幡神社に登ってきました。
下からすべて石段です。
11段、2段、155段、18段の計186段。
途中でタヌキが横切ったり、様々な鳥が見えたり、自然豊かな石段です。
山頂は福岡八幡神社の境内です。
周囲に多くの小社が並んでいます。
本殿左奥には、四尾山稲荷神社の赤い鳥居もあります。
神々の多い四尾山でした。
境内からの眺望はほとんど望めません。
辛うじて、木々の隙間を見つけたので、狭い眺望を楽しませていただきました。
下には、四国八十八ヶ所の別格霊場第11番生木地蔵（生木山正善寺）もあります。
樹齢1200年以上と推測される、巨大な倒木が祀られています。
なんでも、この木の中に弘法大師が一夜で地蔵菩薩の尊像を彫られたのだとか。
その生木地蔵は、現在は本堂に安置されているとのことです。

I climbed up to the Fukuoka Hachiman Shrine at the top of Mt. Shibu.
It is all stone steps from the bottom.
There are 11 steps, 2 steps, 155 steps, and 18 steps, for a total of 186 steps.
The stone steps are rich in nature, with raccoons crossing along the way and various birds in sight.
The summit is the precincts of Fukuoka Hachiman Shrine.
Many small shrines are lined up around it.
There is also a red torii gate of Shibuyama Inari Shrine at the far left of the main shrine.
It was a mountain of many gods and goddesses, Mt. Shibu.
The view from the precincts of the shrine is almost unobtainable.
We barely found a gap in the trees to enjoy the narrow view.
Below is also the 11th Ikiki Jizo (Ikiyama Shozenji Temple), a separate sacred site of 88 temples on Shikoku Island.
A huge fallen tree, estimated to be over 1,200 years old, is enshrined here.
It is said that Kobo Daishi carved a statue of Jizo Bosatsu in this tree in one night.
The Jizo is now enshrined in the main hall of the temple.
